February 11, 1992 BOSTON -- Today POWERCORE Inc., manufacturer of the
NETWORK SCHEDULER II (NS), the leading LAN based time management software,
has announced support for the VIM (Vendor Independent Messaging Interface)
standard for use in its NETWORK SCHEDULER products for cc:Mail and Lotus
Notes.
VIM presents developers with a standard set of rules to write mail-enabled
applications. It is one of the major steps in defining the standards for
promoting inter-application exchange of information.
POWERCORE has been commercially producing a cc:Mail aware product since
1986. It announced it was developing a NS for Lotus Notes(Networld Dallas
1991). VIM support helps standardize not only how NS interface with Lotus
products, but all other communication products that are joining the
growing ranks of VIM.
VIM support adds to the robust connectivity options NS already boasts.
These include MHS (Message Handling System) from Novell, cc:Mail via
Import and Export APls, and Microsoft Mail via MSAPls. POWERCORE was the
first commercial LAN calendaring system to employ this concept with its
NETWORK SCHEDULER Link for 3+Mail (3Com Corp.) in 1985.
"With the addition of VIM support for NETWORK SCHEDULER, POWERCORE is now
positioned to offer the broadest array of communication interfaces for our
time management solutions," stated Richard E. Juricic, President and CEO
of POWERCORE. 'We are continuing towards our goal of making NETWORK
SCHEDULER available in the widest variety of user environments."
